These pages gather 44 stories of survivors of the Nazi persecution in Europe who were welcomed to this hospitable country in 1940, settling in Sosúa. Some of these stories were narrated by the protagonists themselves, who gladly gave their testimony of life, while others were related by their descendants. Some are long, others shorter, but all are emotional, showing the tenacity, courage and, above all, the hope of a group of people who had no choice: either they sayed and died, or they ventured out without being certain of salvation.
