COLMADO OR BODEGA

In 2014 the building where El Colmado (and later the La Roca Restaurant) was located caught on fire and was partially destroyed. A year before that sad event, the local artist Leo Díaz announced that he wanted to restore abandoned places in Sosúa, filling them with murals. In April 18, 2019 the Colmado murals were inaugurated.

Then

The inhabitants of Sosúa regularly met at the Colmado (Bodega). It was a store that had for sale all kinds of products, both domestic and foreign. At the beginning it was part of a settlers’ cooperative called Cooperativa Colmado.
